Crisis Hidden Gigs

If Dorothy learned one thing from her time in Oz it's this: There's no place like home.
But this Christmas hundreds of homeless people will be sleeping rough on the freezing streets and tens of thousands more will be hidden out of sight on friends' and families' sofas and floors, stuck in temporary accommodation or cramped into cold miserable squats without even heat, light or running water. Many don't know where they will end up each night and are often forced to move from place to place, hoping that somewhere, sometime they will find somewhere safe and secure. The general public aren't even aware they are there - they are hidden from view, hidden from help.

Gabby Young

Gabby Young and Other Animals have always been more than just another band. Launching her career on her own record label, Gift of the Gab Records after recovering from thyroid cancer, Gabby Young has never done things by the book. Not content with creating her own sound, she's even developed her own genre; 'Circus Swing', born from her love of theatrical stage costumes and all things jazz.
Gabby even invited her creative friends to sell their wares at her early gigs, turning them into mini festivals. This collective evolved into Gabberdashery, made up of jewellery makers, milliners, artists and craftspeople designing bespoke, handmade pieces inspired by Gabby's individual style. Part period drama, part Bjork, her stage outfits never fail to impress, combining vintage pieces, upcycled designs and work from ethical designers. She's pioneered the likes of Beautiful Soul who rework vintage kimonos, and Kumiko Tani who creates couture costumes made entirely from newspaper, giving her a look as distinctive as her sound.

CAN THEY DO ANY WRONG?

A "humbled" JLS visited a children's cancer ward this week ahead of their Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT) gig next Saturday (March 27th).

The boys were at University College London Hospital were they spent hours chatting with more than a dozen teenagers suffering from the illness, the Sun Reports.

Oritse described the youngsters they met as "brave" and "incredible".
"It really made us appreciate life so much," he told the news provider.

"We are so happy to be supporting them by performing at the Teenage Cancer Trust show. We were humbled and are going to help to make a difference."
