Green was the new black when Vancouver hit the runway at the first ever Eco Fashion Week presented by Aveda. This week showcased a new generation of designers that are trying to change the way we think about clothing by reinventing eco-friendly fashion.

Nowhere on the catwalk were ill-fitted hemp dresses completely devoid of color or the Birkenstocks of yesteryear. Instead, models strutted their stuff in beautiful flowy dresses and impeccably tailored sportswear that radiated sophistication and femininity. With a fashion forward approach, the 15 designers that showed at EFW used their collections to send a message to the fashionistas of the world that sustainability and going green doesn't have to be a change in style, just a change in lifestyle. - Lauren Greenwood, Hush Magazine
