JOHN FRIEDA IS JOINED BY HAIRDRESSING’S BIGGEST NAMES TO FUNDRAISE FOR GREAT ORMOND STREET HOSPITAL.

Hairdressing ledgend John Frieda has been joined by the biggest names in hairdressing to launch HAIRraising, a new fundraising appeal that invites the hairdressing community to come together to help raise £1 million towards new operating theatres at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Andrew Collinge, Daniel Hersheson, Mark Hayes, Errol Douglas, Nicky Clarke, Andrew Barton, Louise Galvin, Richard Ward and Hellen Ward, plus many more are helping to launch the appeal along side John Frieda.

John said:

“I am truly touched that so many of my fellow hairdressers have agreed to pull together with me so that we can help sick kids from across the UK get better.Having visited Great Ormond Street Hospital, I have seen firsthand how much our support is needed. The neurosurgery team does fantastic work but with our help could treat up to 20 per cent more children – that’s got to be worth aiming for. We want salons across the UK to get behind HAIRraising and show we will go to any lengths to help these children!”

Salons can raise money by organising fundraising events and also by inviting their customers to add £1 to their bill over any period of time from March 2010 to September 2010.

Great Ormond Street Hospital is one of the world’s leading children’s hospitals and the only specialist children’s research hospital in the UK.
It is the largest centre for children needing brain surgery in the country carrying out over 750 operations a year.
